The crossover you missed between The Sinner season 3 and Gossip Girl – cosmopolitan.com

Late last month Netflix brought back it’s eerie crime thriller series, The Sinner, for a third instalment. The series follows Detective Harry Ambrose as he investigates a suspicious looking car accident, and as ever, there’s a lot going on underneath the surface. If it’s anything like series one and two it’ll be another huge hit for Netflix.

Matt Bomer, who you may or may not remember (you most definitely do remember) from Magic Mike XXL joins the cast, alongside Chris Messina (The Mindy Project), Parisa Fitz-Henley (Jessica Jones) and Jessica Hecht (Susan from Friends).

If you have started watching the series you may have spotted something recognisable in the first episode that got your memory going. In an early scene, Jamie (Bomer) is seen walking through the school where he works as a history teacher. We’re given a shot of the front of the building which looks extremely grand… and that’s a little hint as to where you may have seen it before.

The school is actually the same as the one in Gossip Girl, and that shot of the front was where so many Upper East Side kick-offs took place between Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate et al.

The building is actually the Synod of Bishops Russian Orthodox Church and is located on East 93rd Street in New York City. In The Sinner the church becomes The Briarton School, while in Gossip Girl it was used as the filming location for Constance Billard School for Girls and Saint Jude’s School for Boys. Which is quite the mouthful.
