Spotted: Ed Westwick on Twitter, teasing a potential Gossip Girl reunion.

Basically, get us to the Upper East Side immediately.

One of the most iconic (and messiest) teen dramas of the late 00s, Gossip Girl followed the trials and tribulations of upper class New York teens, who were hounded by the titular, omnipotent blogger who knew all their secrets.

Despite the series ending after six seasons in 2012, former cast member Ed (who played bad boy Chuck Bass) has sent fans into meltdown with a cryptic tweet.

Simply posting an image of an pink XOXO (Gossip Girl’s infamous sign-off, in case you haven’t been paying attention) Ed wrote: ‘got a little something for you…tomorrow 1pm.’

Unsurprisingly, fans are convinced that a get together of sorts is on the cards, with one fan writing: ‘It better be a gossip girl reboot or reunion.’

We already can’t stand the tension. Is it a full-blown cast reunion? Will Blake Lively and Leighton Meester be there? What about Taylor Momsen? Has anyone asked Kristen Bell?

So many questions, so little time.

One thing we do know, however, is that the iconic drama was all set to be getting a fresh new modern-day reboot, with a more diverse cast.

None of the original stars – which also included Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Taylor Momsen – were tapped to return for the reboot, but Kristen Bell was confirmed to be reprising her role as the voice of the omniscient Gossip Girl.

The original Gossip Girl ran for six seasons, from 2008 to 2012 and helped launch the careers of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgely.

And just to twist the knife in even more on Gossip Girl’s original finale ending, it turns out that Dan Humphrey was never actually meant to be unveiled as the titular blogger.

We’ll meet back here at 1pm tomorrow to discuss this news, XOXO.

Gossip Girl is available to stream now on Netflix.
