Hatch, Meghan Markle’s Favorite Maternity Line, Is Launching a New Lifestyle Site for Moms – Vogue

Despite the seemingly infinite number of mommy blogs out there, it’s rare to come upon a site for moms and moms-to-be that is both wildly stylish and helpful. That’s at least how Ariane Goldman felt just before she had her first child. The founder of Hatch, a chic maternity label beloved by moms like Meghan Markle and Lily Aldridge, remembers, “I didn’t have a community to ask questions to or hear from regarding their experiences being pregnant, going through labor and being a new mom, whether that was getting an epidural or having sex for the first time after giving birth.” For years, Goldman dreamt about creating an online platform to answer the types of questions she had, and bring moms together in a place that looked more like a fashion or lifestyle magazine than a Reddit page.

Today, just in time for Mother’s Day, Goldman launches Babe, a website featuring resources and tools for moms and soon-to-be moms on a platform that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is informative. Pilar Guzmán, former editor in chief of Conde Nast Traveler, is the founding editorial director in charge of content, the breadth of which includes personal essays, medically informed data, and how-to service pieces. During launch week, for example, there will be an article by Samantha Huggins of Carriage House Birth on being a doula in the digital age, as well as Aliza Pressman, Ph.D of Seedlings Group on the logistics and balance of raising siblings. There is a “Hatchpedia” page with an index of terminology around pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting, as well as a “Trimesters” page which goes into topics related to the various stages of pregnancy. The idea behind Babe is to cut out some of the noise of mom-related content online, to present information, and promote connectivity.
