Gossip Girl costume designer will return for reboot – Tatler

Attention Upper East Siders, there is an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot; the show’s original costume designer, Eric Daman, is set to return for the show’s revival.

From the show’s start in 2007, Gossip Girl inspired the masses to up their style stakes with updated school uniforms and preppy accessories. Whether you donned a Blair Waldorf headband or a Serena van der Woodsen tank top and waistcoat combo, high school cliques never felt so important.

Much like any spin-off from a well-loved series, many Gossip Girl fans were sceptical at first but bringing back such an important part of the original, die-hard fans can rest assured Daman will resurrect the style of everybody’s favourite teen drama at it’s very finest. Daman told Teen Vogue in true Constance Billard School style, ‘OMGG I am sooo thrilled to be a part of the new GG Generation! It has been incredible to see the youth of today discovering and bingeing GG during these times!! Very excited to delight and inspire all of the GG Fans, new and OG, with some delicious, trendsetting fashions for this new era! Can’t Wait!! XoXo, E.’

Daman is no stranger to costume design with a cult following, he also assisted on the creation of Sex and the City’s wardrobe, lauded for their over-the-top nineties and noughties style with a definite fashion sensibility.

The news comes after it was announced late last year that Kristen Bell would also return to to narrate the infamous Gossip Girl blog, although the rest of the cast will be newcomers. Here are some of our favourite fashion moments from the show, xoxo Gossip Girl.
