We’re all trying to stay entertained during quarantine, and a good way to do that is plop down and watch some movie you’ve never seen before. Or one you have seen seventeen times and just want to watch again, if only to feel some semblance of normalcy in these scary times.

Or whatever. We’ve found the best movies that are currently part of the subscription for Amazon Prime members — while you can order lots of movies through Amazon Prime, all the ones below (as of May 1) are available for free streaming for Prime members.

Check out some of our other lists:

The 63 best movies on Netflix right now (May 2020)
The best TV shows to binge on Hulu
The best video games to play in quarantine

Enjoy the movies!

1. ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ (New in May) — Clint Eastwood does all his great grimace faces, and gets off a ton of cool one-liners, in this prison break classic.

2. RAMBO: LAST BLOOD — It ain’t Shakespeare, but if you take comfort in watching Sylvester Stallone blow up *everything*, you’re going to enjoy this.

3, 4, 5. THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO TRILOGY — The original Swedish trilogy is all on Prime, and they’re all good to great, with a breakout performance from Noomi Rapace.

6. A MOST WANTED MAN — Philip Seymour Hoffman is typically great in this spy film written by John le Carré and Andrew Bovell.

7. BRITTANY RUNS A MARATHON — A charming little film about a woman who can’t seem to get her life together.

8. THE REPORT — While the pace is, let’s put it kindly, deliberate … the performances are strong in this film about the United States’ investigation into its own behavior in the Iraq war.

9. THE DOWNFALL — A stirring look at the final days of Hitler, and the people who surrounded him in that Nazi bunker.

10. THE FAREWELL — Awkwafina is spectacular in this film about a family’s journey home to say goodbye to an ailing matriarch.

11. FRIENDS WITH KIDS — A film that is by turns riotously funny and deeply uncomfortable, with a cast of people who are clearly enjoying the whole thing.

12. MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT — As long as they keep pumping these films out, I will be there opening weekend to see them. So fun.

13. THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME — This film didn’t get the attention it deserved, and it’s a wonderful sendup of the genre.

14. A SIMPLE FAVOR — Paul Feig directs this comedy thriller which leans into the melodrama of the source material and just basks in it.

15. HONEY BOY — Shia LaBeouf wrote and stars in this semi-autobiographical look at his troubled relationship with his father.

16. ONE CHILD NATION — A powerful, personal documentary on the unintended consequences of China’s one child policy.

17. LOGAN LUCKY — Quite simply one of the most delightful caper films of the last decade. Come for Daniel Craig’s Foghorn Leghorn accent, stay for an amazing heist scene.

18. THE NEXT THREE DAYS — This movie is preposterous, but Russell Crowe is game in a movie about a man breaking his wife out of prison.

19. LADY BIRD — Greta Gerwig’s deeply personal, deeply funny look at growing up in Sacramento is by turns nostalgic, relatable, and beautiful.

20. THE LOST CITY OF Z — Charlie Hunman stars in a period piece about a man committed to exploring the jungles of South America.

21. HOME AGAIN — Reese Witherspoon has a blast with this film that flips the rom-com script on its head.

22. FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY — The Rock had a hand in this film about aspiring WWE stars. Surprisingly wonderful, even for non-wrestling fans.

23. LATE NIGHT — Like all late night shows, the jokes in this are hit or miss, but Emma Thompson’s great performance elevates the whole thing.

24. GENERATION WEALTH — A documentary for our time, about the uber wealthy, that will make you laugh and/or puke.

25. LAST FLAG FLYING — Three veterans get together for a road trip with a heartbreaking end goal. It’s dark stuff, but there are laughs to be found along the way.

26. MANCHESTER BY THE SEA — Casey Affleck is spellbinding in this drama that will leave you bawling.

27. SUSPIRIA — Even if you haven’t seen the 1977 original, dive in to this horror thriller directed by Luca Guadagnino.

28. ZOMBIELAND — A near perfect genre film, equal parts gory and hilarious, with an all-time performance from Woody Harrelson.

29. APOCALYPTO — Mel Gibson’s thriller is intense, serious, and, at times, utterly gorgeous.

30. MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS — This original adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel still holds up.

31. NAKED GUN 33 1/3 — One of the great, idiotic spoof films ever made. Try not to laugh.

32. SUPER SIZE ME — This documentary spawned an entire cottage industry of imitators, but it’s stunning to go back and see how simple, and scary, the premise was.

33. AIR FORCE ONE — Harrison Ford beating up dudes. And he’s the president. Don’t overthink it.

34. BRIDGET JONES’ DIARY — Still one of the more charming rom-coms of the last few decades.

35. LIGHT OF MY LIFE — Casey Affleck gives a stellar performance in this post-apocalyptic film that might be a bit too real right now.

36. THE BIG SICK — Speaking of too real right now, don’t be afraid of THE BIG SICK, a beautiful rom com about a couple falling in love despite a serious illness.

37. ROMAN HOLIDAY — There’s a reason people are still watching this movie, and falling in love with it, all these years later.

38. MIDSOMMAR — A horror film set in the daytime isn’t supposed to work, but it works even better than you might imagine.

39. THE MAN FROM NOWHERE — An action film from South Korea that fans of the genre will love deeply.

40. TROOP ZERO — A charming look at a ragtag group of girl scouts. With Viola Davis and Allison Janney.

41. THE BODYGUARD — Listen, you’re going to watch for the song. But there’s a halfway decent flick here, too!

42. GUAVA ISLAND — This is really just an extended Childish Gambino music video, but it’s a gorgeous one.

43. MISS SLOANE — Jessica Chastain is fantastic in this whip smart look at a DC lobbyist with seemingly no morals.
