‘Jaws’ actress dies of coronavirus
ET reports “Jaws” actress Lee Fierro is dead of coronavirus at age 91. Fierro died Sunday of complications from COVID-19 at an assisted living facility in Ohio, according to Kevin Ryan, artistic director and board president for the Island Theater Workshop on Martha’s Vineyard — where Fierro worked as a director and mentor for 25 years. Fierro had few film roles, but had a memorable performance as Mrs. Kintner in Steven Spielberg’s 1975 movie “Jaws,” which filmed on Martha’s Vineyard. She played a grieving mother who slapped police chief Brody (Roy Scheider) after her son was the second victim of a killer shark, and officials failed to alert the beach town about a previous deadly attack. “We will miss her terribly. She spent 40 years here on the vineyard,” Ryan told ET. She’s survived by five children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
‘Hamilton’ cast surprise
“The Office” and “A Quiet Place” star John Krasinski just got Zoom-bombed during his latest episode of “Some Good News.” The actor shared a video chat with a 9-year-old girl named Aubrey, who said she was disappointed when a tour performance of “Hamilton” was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. So she and her mom watched “Mary Poppins Returns” (starring Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda) instead, but Krasinski made Aubrey’s day when Blunt popped in to say hi — and then Miranda interrupted the Zoom chat to perform “Alexander Hamilton” with the entire original Broadway cast tele-conferencing in.
