  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left baby Archie in Canada while they made their final royal appearances in the U.K.
  • It looks like they left Archie in Vancouver due to health concerns.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently returned home to Canada after their final round of official engagements as British royals. And while Meghan and Harry charmed us all with their matching outfits and PDA, it was curious that they didn’t bring baby Archie with them to England to visit his family—after all, he’s only met his royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis a handful of times, so this trip seemed like the perfect time to bring the family together.

It also seemed as though Queen Elizabeth was disappointed that she didn’t get to visit with her great-grandson. A source shared, “The Queen would love to have a relationship with Archie, but it’s looking unlikely that will ever happen…The Queen’s worst fear is that she may never see Archie again.”

However, it looks like Megan and Harry didn’t leave Archie at home to upset the royal family or anything like that. The Telegraph reports that Meghan and Harry didn’t travel with Archie simply because of health concerns. According to the outlet, “the decision to leave Archie behind in Canada came not out of petty spite, as reported in some areas, but out of concern for his health during the threat of a global pandemic,” referring to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, aka coronavirus. And honestly, that makes a lot of sense—better safe than sorry!

So hopefully when things calm down Archie can make a trip to the U.K. to spend some time with the Queen and the rest of the royal fam.
