BINGE WATCH: GASPARILLA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival is back for another year. This cinematic celebration kicks off its annual series of screenings at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with The Lovebirds starring Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani at Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St. The Performing Arts Building at Hillsborough Community College’s Ybor City campus presents the remaining 50-plus movies over six days. They include the documentary Disclosure | Trans Lives on Screen; comic book and fantasy shorts; Musica Cubana — A Story to be Told, a documentary about Cuba’s musical diversity; thriller shorts; and the drama Resistance with Jesse Eisenberg. The festival advises that the best way to go is to purchase the Unlimited Screening Pass that grants you access to each flick, plus priority entry. Put on by the Tampa Film Institute, the Gasparilla International Film Festival has been around since 2007. Through March 22. $15 opening night film, $150 pass. ENDURING ENSEMBLE: ONCE WERE BROTHERS
