Meghan Markle’s ‘humility’ slammed by scathing Piers Morgan after sharing a picture of herself on IWD – Irish Mirror

Piers Morgan blasted Meghan Markle for her lack of humility – after she shared a snap of herself meeting schoolgirls on International Women’s Day.

Sharing a series of six black and white photographs from her visit to Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, east London , the Sussex Royal Instagram caption described the trip as “profound”, adding: “The Duchess of Sussex visited Dagenham to meet with Geraldine Dear, one of the strikers, and spend time with students at the Robert Clack Upper School to meet the town’s next generation of female role models, and talk to young women and men about the women who inspire them.”

But within minutes of the post being shared, ex pal Piers tweeted: “Meghan just posted this photo of herself on her Instagram. Her humility is…. humbling.”

Piers has been vocal about his dislike for Meghan, especially since January when the Duchess and Harry decided to leave their royal posts.

The outspoken telly star called Prince Harry’s wife “one of the most ruthless social climbers” he has ever crossed paths with in the showbiz world.

He said: “Meghan is one of the most ruthless social climbers I have ever met in my entire life.

“Anyone who thinks she wants to get out of the fame element is living in cloud cuckoo land. What she wants to do is be a global super star, riding off the fame she has acquired by marrying a member of the royal family.”

After his tweet was published one cheeky fan replied: “We’ve seen you boast about twitter follower count loads of times. Whats the difference?”

Piers said: “Nothing… Meghan & I are equally humble.”

Sussex Roya’s caption on the IWD snaps added a quote from Meghan: “Being in Dagenham is incredibly profound. Because as you can see with Geraldine and the other women who had the strength to really stand up for something that they knew needed to be done. This is the best example of no matter how small you might feel, how low you may feel on the ladder or the totem pole, no matter what colour you are, no matter what gender you are, you have a voice, and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right.”

The caption also stated: “A lifetime advocate and campaigner for gender equity, The Duchess joined a special assembly to celebrate this remarkable local story, as well as recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of all women around the world.”

Meghan and Harry have been packing in a weekend of engagements before they leave their jobs as official royals

In January, the couple said they would be moving to Canada and stepping back from royal life in a bombshell announcement that stunned senior royals.

But they were forced to ditch plans for a ‘Sussex Royal’ brand after reaching an agreement with the Queen over their status.

“I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.

“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.

“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
