Liverpool are set to inflict another blow to Manchester United in the transfer market, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a target for Inter Milan in today’s Gossip column…
ANOTHER BLOW FOR MAN UTD
Manchester United lost out to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window as Erling Haaland chose to join the Bundesliga side and now the Red Devils could miss out on another top target. United reportedly made a £25million bid to Birmingham City for youngster Jude Bellingham back in January – but now the Daily Star reports that arch-rivals Liverpool have entered the race for the Championship midfielder.
Bellingham became Birmingham’s youngest ever first-team player in August 2019 when he made his debut aged 16 years and 38 days and has scored four goals in 33 appearances this term. And now the Daily Star claim that Man Utd could end up missing out on the promising youngster as they face ‘more transfer misery’. Liverpool ‘have joined the rest of the Premier League’s Big Six in pursuit of’ Bellingham with the England under-17 international ‘certain to be off in the summer for £30m plus’.
Liverpool’s interest in Bellingham ‘poses a serious threat to their bitter rivals’ ambitions’ with Man Utd apparently ‘fearing another crushing blow in the market’.
SO INTER YOU
Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Man Utd’s Anthony Martial are interesting Serie A side Inter Milan as they look for a replacement for Lautaro Martinez, according to reports.
Tuttosport claim that the Argentinian striker is set to join Barcelona in the summer with a €150m offer on the table from the Spanish giants as they look to improve their attack. And if they decide to bank that huge sum of money then they will apparently pursue Aubameyang and Martial as their priority targets with the likes of Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner and Antoine Griezmann also on their list.
BLADES IN FOR LEEDS MAN
Sheffield United picked up another point on Saturday as they find themselves unexpectedly chasing a European place in the Premier League. And The Sun claims that if they qualify for Europe then the Blades will launch a ‘£20m transfer move’ for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips is likely to be in demand this summer with Tottenham and Manchester United linked with the 24-year-old. The report adds that Sheff Utd boss Chris Wilder knows that European football will ‘boost his chances’ of landing Phillips and any other transfer target. Phillips will be eyeing up promotion with Leeds this season but Wilder ‘will have funds’ to land the midfielder if he becomes available.
