Appleton and Little Chute approved rezoning requests Wednesday night, allowing two big projects to move a step forward.
Aldi

Little Chute hotel
Little Chute’s Village Board approved rezoning several residential properties to commercial use in the central business district. This first step allows a proposed hotel project to move forward in the block west of the village’s windmill.

Wednesday’s board meeting drew about 20 residents.
“Some of the neighbors were concerned about the project abutting existing homes and safety and traffic issues,” said village administrator James Fenlon. “The board took all those comments into consideration, but this vote was about rezoning and how it fit with the comprehensive plan.”
He said the public will be allowed to comment in future hearings if the hotel project is submitted for site plan and conditional use approval. That could happen in the next few months, he said.
