Harvey Weinstein says he “loved” the defense his lead attorney put up during her five-hours-long closing argument Thursday.
When asked by a reporter what he thought about attorney Donna Rotunno’s defense as he pushed a walker out of the Manhattan Supreme courtroom, the disgraced movie mogul responded, “I loved it.”
The comment caused Rotunno to crack a smile and let out a laugh as she walked ahead of him out of the courtroom.
Weinstein also likened Rotunno’s lengthy closing argument to “the queen’s speech,” saying, “That’s what it was.”
During the daylong closing argument for the #MeToo-era trial, Rotunno implored jurors to have the “courage” to acquit the fallen Hollywood heavyweight.
“The time to do the right thing is now,” Rotunno said at the top of her remarks.
Weinstein appeared to be in good spirits as he left the courtroom, but would not comment to reporters when asked if he thinks he will be acquitted.
Weinstein, 67, faces two counts of predatory sexual assault, two counts of rape and one count of a criminal sex act stemming from the allegations of one-time aspiring actress Jessica Mann, former “Project Runway” production assistant Miriam “Mimi” Haleyi and “The Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra.
He could go to prison for life if convicted of the top charge.
