Jessica Simpson is the latest celeb to have her book signing disrupted by animal rights activists.
Just Jared reports Simpson and Katherine Schwarzenegger were engaged in a discussion about her new tome, “Open Book,” in Los Angeles Monday when protestors interrupted two separate times, imploring the new author to stop wearing fur.
Simpson, 39, recently rocked an Elle Woods-inspired look that included a luxe fur collar.
“God bless you guys! It’s beautiful that you stand up for what you believe, but not through hatred,” she told a group of activists, who were soon escorted out of the venue. Later, a woman stood and began to shout, “Please stop wearing animals, please stop wearing fur. There are so many other choices. Please stop wearing fur, Jessica. Animals are electrocuted!”
Simpson and Schwarzenegger paused their conversation once again until the woman was removed.
“Well, these are the types of moments where you know, when you’re trying to speak about helping other people get through their own problems and their life, and when you talk about god, that is when darkness tries to seep in,” the star said after the second protester made her exit. “And I know that God is stronger than that and nothing will hold me back from my calling.”
Vivica A. Fox, Erika Jayne, Kelly Rowland and Amber Rose have all been confronted by animal activists during book signings. Simpson was also confronted by the group last week during dinner in New York City.
