3M Co. (NYSE: MMM) slipped more than 5% after it reported falling revenues in several markets and plans for a second round of layoffs in less than a year. The company earned $1.95 cents per share on sales of 8.11 billion dollars.

Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA), however, surged after the car maker earned $2.14 cents per share on revenues of 7.4 billion dollars and set a goal to comfortably sell more than half a million vehicles this year.

On the other hand, The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) lost $2.33 cents on revenues of 17.9 billion dollars and is still clearly pained by two deadly crashes inside of five months.
