Gillian Taylforth has reportedly called off her wedding to convicted drug baron boyfriend Dave Fairbairn.
The 64 year old, who plays Kathy Beale on BBC’s EastEnders, split from Dave after the couple had a “string of disagreements”.
A source close to the actress explained that the couple’s six year relationship was simply not working out as she told The Sun: “It’s a great shame after all this time together but it just wasn’t working out.
“They’ve called it quits on the best of terms.”
A representative for Gillian has been contacted by OK! Online, but has yet to comment.
This isn’t the first time Gillian and Dave’s relationship has broken down as back in 2017 the actress called off her engagement to him after growing tensions.
At the time, a source revealed to the same publication that their relationship was “hanging by a thread”.
They said: “This has been a very difficult time for Gill.
“She and Dave have been together for many years now, and she felt sure her future was with him.

“But neither of them have been happy for a while. There have been a lot of very fiery rows between them.
“And recently Dave’s behaviour has lead Gill’s friends to question if there is someone else. That has obviously led to serious tension between them, and yet more rows.”
The source added: “The engagement has now been totally discarded, and their future is hanging by a very thin thread. For the moment, they are still together – just about.

“But it is incredibly hard to see how they will get through this.”
Prior to Dave, Gillian spent 23 years with her abusive ex husband Geoff Knights, who is the father of her two children Jessica, 27, and 20 year old Harrison, but the two decided to separate in 2009 after a string of violent arguments.
Years later Geoff was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died, leaving Gillian devastated. But she went on to find love again with 61 year old Dave.

EastEnders stars: Past and present
Gillian, who made an awkward mistake by asking who Shirley Ballas was at the British Soap awards last year, found fame for her portrayal of Kathy on EastEnders, appearing on the show between 1985 and 2000.
Fancying a change, she then moved on to appear in Footballers’ Wives, The Bill and Hollyoaks before making a surprise return to EastEnders in 2015 when it was revealed that her character had not died in a car crash as her son Ian Beale had originally thought.
