Social Kitchen, 541 First St., La Salle, will remain closed despite a prior announcement.

The business announced on Facebook it decided not to reopen after closing on Oct. 14 due to being unable to renew its liquor license.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to reopen. We had a blast over the past four years,” the business posted on Facebook.

The space is available for sale with or without the kitchen, bar and dining equipment through Malooley Dahm Realty.

The business’ second location in Seneca at the Spring Brook Marina has also closed.

Tri-County Financial Group and H.F. Gehant Bancorp announce plans for merger

Tri County Financial Group Inc., the holding company for First State Bank, and H.F. Gehant Bankin Inc., the holding company of H.F. Gehant Banking Co., announced plans to merge.

Tri-County Financial will acquire H.F. Gehant Banking Co. pending shareholder approval.

It’s expected the consolidation will be completed by the first or second quarter of 2020 and will operate under the First State Bank name, according to a press release.

H.F. Gehant Banking Co. has approximately $59 million in total assets and has locations in West Brooklyn and Triumph. First State Bank has approximately $1.137 billion in total assets and has locations in Mendota, Batavia, Bloomington, Geneva, LaMoille, McNabb, North Aurora, Ottawa, Peru, Princeton, Rochelle, Shabbona, St. Charles, Streator, Sycamore and Waterman.
