The Motherhood Maternity store in the Fox River Mall was identified as “set to close or likely to close” in a USA Today story Thursday morning.

USA Today: Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity store closings: Is your location on the list?

The store’s parent company, Destination Maternity Corp., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday.

Destination Maternity it said it will close 183 of its stores under bankruptcy. Its 474 stores are under three brands, Motherhood Maternity, Destination Maternity and A Pea in the Pod.

USA Today quoted court documents that blamed the New Jersey-based retailer’s problems on turmoil in the retail industry as a whole, declining birth rates, high store rents and its own leadership turnover with five CEOs in the last five years.

In Wisconsin, Motherhood Maternity in Southridge Mall, in a Milwaukee suburb, was slated for closure before the Chapter 11 filing.

Wisconsin stores listed by the company as “set to close or likely to close” included branches in Appleton (Grand Chute’s Fox River Mall), Oshkosh (Motherhood Maternity Outlet) and Green Bay (Ashwaubenon’s Bay Park Square).

Liquidation sales at stores that are closing will wrap up before the end of the year.
