Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant Catherine Tyldesley, 35, took to Instagram to tell fans she had put Deep Heat on her thighs, but it had spread to “special places”.
The former Coronation Street actress made the revelation as she shared a picture of her bruised legs after a rehearsal.
In view of her 517,000 followers, she captioned the picture: “The bruises tho!”(sic)
Warning others about her mishap, she added: “I put Deep Heat on my thighs today.
“Don’t do that. It migrates. Let’s just say I was feeling very fresh. Very uncomfortable.”
Catherine then took to her Twitter page to share a similar message with her 423,000 followers.
She wrote: “Note to self… do not accidentally get Deep Heat in your ‘special places’. #fresh.”
The Deep Heat rub is advertised as plus heat therapy used for muscular pain.
Despite her blunder, Catherine returned to rehearsals the following day and updated her fans about her antics.
Taking to her Instagram story, she filmed herself in the back of a car telling fans she had been on a shoot for the show.
She said to the camera: “Just got back to Manchester, I’ve been on a shoot today for Strictly.
“When I say sparkly, I mean I practically had to peel the dress off my back, it’s like a dream.
“I felt like a Disney princess/human disco ball.”
She then jokingly added: “I am a gay man trapped in a woman’s body. It’s time to come out.”
The actress also took part in a Q&A with her followers.
One of her followers asked her: “What are you most terrified of on Strictly?”
Catherine replied: “Anything that involves actual dancing.”
Another Instagram user asked the mother-of-one how she’s going to cope with being away from her son Alfie.
She replied: “I’m training in MCR, so it’s not too bad.”
Ahead of being announced for the show, Catherine Tyldesley said she was keen to do Strictly, but insisted she wasn’t good on the dance floor.
She told Express.co.uk: “I think Strictly is an amazing show. I love watching it.”
But Catherine said taking part may be difficult as she admitted she “couldn’t dance”.
