TRANSFER GOSSIP: Southampton’s Mario Lemina agrees terms with Monaco – St. Mary’s Musings

Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has reportedly agreed terms with AS Monaco according to French outlet RMC Sport via Daily Echo.

However, while Lemina and Monaco are said to have agreed on a deal, Southampton and Monaco are yet to have come to terms.

Monaco are thought to want Lemina on an initial loan with an option to buy, while Saints would like to make the full purchase of Lemina obligatory once the loan ends.

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl made it very clear that Lemina was not needed for the 2019-20 season.

Lemina initially caught the interest of various Premier League clubs according to the tabloids, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Leicester City, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That supposed interest didn’t amount to anything.

Monaco have until 2 September to complete the signing of Lemina.
