From Red to Reputation, Taylor Swift has taken her fans on a journey. And her latest album, Lover, is no exception to the rule. Though shrouded in secrecy, a new cover story reveals the names and a line or two of lyrics from two additional tracks off the upcoming record. Here’s what we now know.
Taylor Swift Easter eggs are unrivaled
As long back as any of her truly dedicated fans can remember, Swift has included hints, clues, and all kinds of Easter eggs in her song lyrics, liner notes, and music videos. As we entered into the social media age, her Twitter and Instagram accounts also became fodder for hints about upcoming singles and much more.
With the promotion for this month’s new album, Lover, Swift has addressed her love of hiding bits of information for her fans to find everywhere she can. In fact, even her interviews have become pieces to be dissected. This includes her recent cover story with Vogue.
The three tracks we have so far

Even before she announced the name of her album, Swift shared her the first single off of it: “Me,” which featured Brandon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, her new cat Benjamin Button, and, of course, many Easter eggs. Then came the LGBTQ+ anthem “You Need to Calm Down,” which showcased, among other things, the end of her feud with Katy Perry.
Next up is “The Archer.” There was one major clue regarding the title of this song in the “You Need to Calm Down” video, wherein pop star Hayley Kiyoko shot a bow and arrow at a target. Give that it lands on the number five, we can assume that’s what where it falls on the album.
Swift teases the title track ‘Lover’
Though an alleged tracklist has leaked online of the 18-track album, we’re taking it with a grain of salt. But we can guarantee that what the Vogue reporter was told was accurate. Fortunately, she managed to snap two interesting bits of information.
The first surround the title track, “Lover,” the song was co-produced by Jack Antonoff, and, according to Swift, “it has one of [her] favorite bridges.” “I love a bridge, and I was really able to go to Bridge City.” Swift shared the same lyrics as the writer in the story on Instagram: “My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue / All’s well that ends well to end up with you.”
She also previews ‘The Man’
Finally, we learned that another track will be titled “The Man,” which Swift said “plays with the idea of perception.” The reporter calls it “a thought experiment of sorts,” regarding what her life would be like if she was a man.
Here are the lyrics that were shared: “I’d be a fearless leader. I’d be an alpha type. When everyone believes ya: What’s that like?” It’s exciting to see Swift take on male privilege, something she’s only recently begun to address.
