Voice of Minnie Mouse dies
The voice of Minnie Mouse is dead at age 75, the Walt Disney Company announced over the weekend. Russi Taylor, who voiced Minnie for more than 30 years, died at her home in Glendale, California, on Friday. “Minnie Mouse lost her voice with the passing of Russi Taylor. For more than 30 years, Minnie and Russi worked together to entertain millions around the world—a partnership that made Minnie a global icon and Russi a Disney Legend beloved by fans everywhere,” Disney CEO Robert Iger said in a statement.
Taylor worked as a voice actress for nearly 50 years, including nearly 200 episodes of “The Simpsons” as Martin and the twins Sherri and Terri. Her credits include work on the original “DuckTales,” “Heathcliff,” “The Smurfs,” “Pac-Man,” and “My Little Pony” before she was cast as Disney’s official Minnie Mouse in the late 1980s.
Armie Hammer lets son suck his toes
“The Lone Ranger” star Armie Hammer went viral over the weekend when he shared a video of his son sucking his son’s toes. “This is not normal,” the actor’s wife Elizabeth Chambers says as their child Ford plays with dad’s feet. “This happened for a solid 7 minutes #footfetishonfleek,” Hammer wrote. Fans criticized the couple for the odd post. TMZ reports Chambers later downplayed the controversy: “it wasn’t seven minutes…more like five seconds… Our son likes to play with people’s feet and I put the video on our family stream because this phase is an ongoing joke. Sharing the video on Instagram was def not the best move on A’s part, but I can assure you that our children’s safety and well-being is always our first priority.”
