We might have been wrong about the secret identity of Gossip Girl all this time… because we’re now thinking it was Love Island‘s Molly-Mae Hague!
Much like the Constance Billard School for Girls, a little rumour can sweep through the villa in no time. The unfortunate victims this time are Anton and Belle.
The Scottish cheeky chappy’s couple with Belle Hassan was a match made in heaven, since she didn’t mind his utterly awful chat-up lines and was even willing to take over for his on arse-shaving duty.

So, the couple’s playful chemistry made Anton’s dumb decision in Friday’s episode (July 12) pretty baffling.
As part of the day’s challenge, the boys were sent out of the villa to a local shop so they could buy groceries for dinner.
On top of Tommy Fury dropping another clanger by revealing he’d never been food shopping in his life and confusing green beans with asparagus, Anton decided to flirt with the shopkeeper.
A little flirting was innocent enough, but Anton made his big mistake when he jokingly wrote his phone number on the back of the receipt and motioned for her to call him.

Although he swore the boys to secrecy, gossip was swirling around the villa before long about what he’d done. Molly-Mae caught wind of what happened and demanded to know the details from boyfriend Tommy.
Tommy might be able to withstand 12 rounds in the squared circle, but he folded like a house of cards under questioning from his girlfriend and confessed that Anton gave his number to the shopkeeper.
Of course, Molly-Mae then went right back to share the gossip with Jourdan Riane and Anna Vakili while Anton and Belle were supposed to be having a romantic date.
Meanwhile, viewers seemed generally split over the thought of Molly-Mae sabotaging Anton’s relationship because of a cheeky joke:
By the last few seconds of the episode, the boys admitted to Anton that it was only a matter of time before Belle found out what he’d done – and he panicked.
“She’s gonna go off her f**kin’ tits,” he worried.
Her reaction will be shown in Sunday’s show. The gossip had repercussions for another couple as well, when Jordan Hames continued covering for Anton even after his partner Anna Vakili knew the truth.
Anna accused him of being untrustworthy — which some viewers found hypocritical since Anna cheated on Jordan in Casa Amor.
Oh Gossip Girl, Molly-Mae, you’ve really got it all kicking off! But we love drama, and you know we love you! XOXO.
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2, and you can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
