Meghan Markle ‘loves to drink, gossip, talk about men and be a bit naughty’ says her former pal Lizzie Cun – The Sun

MEGHAN Markle loves to “drink, gossip about men and be a bit naughty” reveals her former friend Lizzie Cundy.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, met the English TV personality before she married Prince Harry, and Lizzie said the pair “hit it off immediately”.

Speaking to Fabulous Digital, Lizzie recalled: “She was just a real girl’s girl, great fun.

“She was someone you’d have a really good time with on a night. She likes a drink, likes a gossip, loves to talk about boyfriends, men and all the girly stuff.

“She was the most care-free, wanted a good time, didn’t mind being a bit naughty and having a giggle. We got on like a house on fire.”

The pair were sat together at a pre-dinner for a Caudwell Children charity event in 2013, and Lizzie admitted she had no idea who the then-Suits actress living in Canada was.

Lizzie said that Meghan stressed that she was keen to stay in London and had been hanging around with cast members from Made in Chelsea.

The English TV host even said that she encouraged Meghan to consider joining the hit reality series, before she met her now-husband Prince Harry.

Lizzie added: “I was asked to sit next to her and look after her but I hadn’t heard of her.

“I think she wanted to try other avenues, she’d been in Suits for a long time. She felt very at home in London, loved the people and the nightlife.

She was the most care-free, wanted a good time, didn’t mind being a bit naughty and having a giggle.

“She liked Chelsea, that sort of set, and she got into the Made in Chelsea lot. I suggested she should be on the show.

“Yes, she liked to drink, she liked that side of things for sure. She wasn’t that type of person who was like I’m just drinking water I need to go home early. She was out staying late, having a dance, enjoying it.

“I remember her being so excited to see Victoria Beckham at the event, she was like ‘wow it’s Victoria Beckham’.”

Meghan was previously with film producer Trevor Engelson from 2004, and they married in 2011 but divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Lizzie said she met up with Meghan a handful of times and that she “wasn’t short of male attention” during social events.

She said: “She was flirty, playful, giggly, just fun.

“She was sweet with it, not pushy or forward, the opposite of some of the girls you see in Love Island.

“Very sweet with it and had a charm about her.

“I think she was slightly more free pre-Harry. She was very much into her charity work and women’s rights, but I think she was more care-free.”

And while she was keen to move on and find husband number two, Lizzie said that the now-duchess wanted to date a celebrity specifically and loved English guys.

She explained: “She felt comfortable about celebrities, that’s why she was talking about celebrity men. I think they understood her world.”

Lizzie famously revealed she suggested Ashley Cole as a partner for Meghan, which she politely declined after learning about his history.

When the news broke that Meghan Markle was dating Prince Harry in 2016, Lizzie said that Meghan admitted he was “a catch”.

She said: “When I heard about Harry ‘I said what a catch’ and she said ‘yeah I know!’”
