Lil Nas X comes out
“Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X came out as gay on World Pride Day Sunday, the last day of Pride Month. “Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone [f— with me] no more,” he wrote on Twitter with a rainbow emoji. “But before this month ends I want y’all to listen closely to ‘C7osure.'” Rolling Stone notes Lil Nas X doesn’t explicitly address his sexuality in the lyrics, but does sing about “embracing this news I behold unfolding” and “us[ing] my time to be free.”
After the post raised more questions, the 20-year-old hitmaker responded with a photo of himself staring at a building lit up with rainbow colors. “Deada– I thought I made it obvious,” he tweeted.
