Three businesses are opening their doors now and planning open house or grand opening events.
The Rustic Burrow
The Rustic Burrow is a multi-vendor craft market at 3345 W. College Ave. in Grand Chute, in a 12,000-square-foot space next to Harbor Freight Tools.
It opens today with its first 13 booths. Eventually it will have 50 booths in its front room, leased shelves, 20 booths in its back room and a classroom area.
This multi-vendor business takes a slightly different approach from others.
“We’ll have crafters, repurposers, artists and upcyclers. We’re looking for handmade goods made locally, or at least in Wisconsin,” said Adam Schwoerer, who will help operate the market. His wife Karen Schwoerer is the business’ owner.
“Other places are more focused on the antique side,” he said. “Having gone to lots of craft fairs, and talking to crafters, we found people were looking for a place to sell handmade goods.”
Info: therusticburrow.com, Facebook or 920-730-8649. Open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday; 1-6 p.m. Thursday. It will hold a grand opening in August.
Snowy Cabin
Snowy Cabin is a new concession trailer opening today and holding its grand opening Saturday in the American Legion lot at 451 S. Green Bay Road in Neenah. It’s owned and operated by the Tatro family from Neenah.
Snowy Cabin specializes shaved ice desserts that go beyond a typical snow cone with unusual flavors and optional toppings. Its “extreme” flavors include Zombie Virus, horchata and pink lemon sour. Optional toppings include gummy candy kabobs, whipped cream, sprinkles, pucker powder, pickles or chile lime salt.
Info: Facebook, Instagram. Hours are 2-9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and noon-9 p.m. weekends.
Caitlin Claire Studio
Photographer Caitlin Kiley moved her Caitlin Claire Studio to 728 W. College Ave. in Appleton, which is the former Classy Cuts Beauty Salon building in front of The Free Market.
She’ll have an open house Thursday, along with a number of her Wisconsin Avenue business neighbors, to promote family friendly businesses. Kiley specializes in newborn, family and senior portraits.
Info: caitlinclairestudio.com or Facebook. For businesses participating in Thursday’s open houses, see the Wisconsin Ave. Neighborhood – Business Open Houses event page on Facebook.
