A few weeks ago, a reader who had a Shade Today gift card asked if any other nursery would accept the cards in the spirit of goodwill. Shade Today had gone into receivership and closed at 1401 W. Evergreen Drive in Little Chute.
One other nursery has now stepped forward.
Van Zeeland Nursery & Landscape owner Dave Lindenstruth volunteered to accept Shade Today gift cards for up to half of the customer’s purchase, with a maximum credit of $100.
“For example, if someone has an $80 purchase, they can only use $40 of Shade Today gift cards towards that purchase,” he said. “So, in order for someone to get the maximum $100 credit, their purchase would need to be at least $200.”
His offer is good through the end of the year.
Find the Van Zeeland nursery at 1715 E. Main St. in Little Chute. More info: 920-788-1051 or www.beautifyyouryard.com.
Those with Shade Today gift cards also have other options, as spelled out in the previous Buzz story.
Customers can dispute the charges with their own credit card companies if the gift cards were purchased using a credit card.
Another option is to file a claim by Aug. 9 with the receiver, Rebecca DeMarb, at 608-310-5500.
Dale Baeten, prior owner of Shade Today, has a new company, The Luxury Landscape Co. at W5957 County KK in Harrison. He said Shade Today gift card owners would also have the opportunity to receive landscaping services from his new company in the gift card amount.
