BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer is continuing to raise money for kids in western New York.
The Jim Kelly Celebrity Golf Classic kicked off its 32nd year with a gala at the Adam’s Mark hotel on Sunday.
Memorabilia and autographed gear from NFL stars was auctioned off.
Jim Kelly was there, but did not speak since he is still recovering from surgery to remove cancer from his jaw.
His brother Dan said “His thing is ‘I’ll be back, don’t worry.’ His positive attitude is remarkable. He won’t say no. He won’t give up. He’ll never stop giving and caring for children.”
The event raises money for the Kelly For Kids Foundation.
The golf tournament started Monday at the Terry Hills golf course in Batavia. Kelly is set to receive an ESPY award in honor of the Jimmy V Foundation.
