After many long months of cryptic behaviour, Kanye West’s new album YE has finally arrived.

So far, a bunch of people who joined him in Wyoming — and anyone who tuned in for the livestream — are the only people who have listened to it.

Unsurprisingly, many of the people who did listen had some thoughts.

Plenty of people seemed to love it.

#YE is nuts. Kanye’s happiest, most hopeful…and PRETTIEST album by a fucking mile. Rich, melodic production that’s confidently sparse when it needs to be and goes widescreen when called for. Few brush strokes, but they’re big, and bright, and have a million colors in them.

This #Wyoming album is great! So much better than Pablo. Glad Kanye was trolling with that poopedy scoop stuff. Back in old school form.

Honest to God, this Kanye West album is one of the best musical works I’ve ever heard in my 21 years on Earth. I can’t believe what I am hearing rn.

Forget the stupid antics he gets himself into, the man is a fucking genius. I don’t know how many times he has to prove that. #Ye

Others, meanwhile, were less sure.

Bruh, these Kanye bars are all types of cringe. And he swore these rhymes were that business. If you flew to Wyoming for 7 tracks of mediocrity…oof. pic.twitter.com/OoSg038IqM

One listen Kanye review:
The beats are cool.
Lyrically, you’re not getting anything crazy insightful. Meh
I need more Kid Cudi in 2018
WTF was that Nicki Minaj voicemail?#Ye

Some barely found the words to describe how it made them feel.

This album sounds like Yeezus had a baby with College Dropout but cheated with Life of Pablo and was adopted by Graduation. #YE

The album isn’t yet appearing on streaming services, but Pitchfork and others are reporting that people who purchase merch bundles on Kanye’s site will receive a digital copy on the 1 June release date (Mashable has reached out to confirm details of this).

Not too long before you’ll be able to give that thing a listen yourself.
