James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment returned to the Late Late Show Thursday night, featuring a surprise guest — a police officer who pulled him over mid-karaoke session.
Maroon 5’s Adam Levine joined Corden in the car for the segment’s latest installment, with the duo singing hits like Moves Like Jagger and throwback favorites including This Love, pulling over to watch Levine balance random objects on his face, and detouring onto a race track for a high-speed trivia session.
In between, a police officer pulls up beside them, quipping, “I need you to pull you over so you can sing for me.”
“You want to pull over so he can sing a song for you?” Corden asks incredulously.
“Yes, because you caused a traffic hazard,” the officer says, telling Corden to “just be careful” on the road next time.
Both performers smiled and laughed throughout the encounter, with Corden waiting for the officer to pull away to lose his cool.
I don’t know what quite happened there, I completely panicked,” he told Levine. “I panicked in my absolute core.”
