Oprah Almost Broke This One Major Wedding Fashion Rule

Oprah almost (sort of) wore white to the royal wedding, which means she almost broke one of the biggest fashion rules of being a guest at a wedding. Luckily, she figured it all out before the ceremony and managed to change her outfit within 24 hours with some extra help.

According to her Instagram, Oprah contacted Stella McCartney to get a new outfit together the day before the ceremony after realizing her beige dress would look white in photos. McCartney’s team made her a new dress in blush pink in 24 hours.

“I would like to thank the Stella McCartney team and her team for working all night long to get this dress finished because we had dressgate. Wrong color. Now we got the right color,” she said in her Instagram video. “I think we’re gonna do okay. But no, thank you so much for the detail, working all night, to the whole Stella McCartney team. Amen, amen, amen. Stella McCartney team, thank you very much.”

Oprah also took a Philip Treacy hat she’s had for five years and added some feathers to create the perfect look to go with her new outfit.

Oprah wasn’t the only one who wore Stella McCartney to the ceremony. Amal Clooney stole the show with her mustard yellow dress. After the ceremony, Meghan Markle switched to a Stella McCartney gown for her reception.

At the ceremony that morning, Oprah was also caught on camera unsure of where to sit. Someone on Twitter told her, “Look for the seat marked ‘queen.'”
