The royal wedding excitement wasn’t over for the cast of Saturday Night Live.

During the “Weekend Update” segment of Saturday night’s episode, Kenan Thompson was interviewed as Bishop Michael Curry, who gave a passionate, American-style sermon during the nuptials of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan earlier that day.

“Thank the Lord, it is good to be around black folks again,” Thompson (as Curry) told Michael Che.

“Did you see it? It was tough man, real tough,” Thompson continued. “I preached and I testified and I yelled while 500 stuffy English people looked at me… It felt like somebody opened a chicken and waffles kiosk in the middle of a Pottery Barn”

He also summarized his speech, which focused on love, and explained why some critics thought it went on too long.

“Love is great. Love is redemptive. Love can change the world. And love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru,” Thompson said. “They told me I had five minutes, but the good Lord multiplied it into a cool 16.”

Earlier in the show, the cast also imagined what the royal wedding’s after party looked like.

Mikey Day played Prince Harry, Cecily Strong played a tipsy Kate Middleton and Kate McKinnon played Queen Elizabeth. All were impressively dressed in get-ups similar to what they wore to the royal ceremony.
