Delray country club to build $22 million 'lifestyle center'

Mizner Country Club in Delray Beach has started construction on a $22 million, two-story “lifestyle center” within its gated community.

The 40,000-square-foot center will include rooms for aerobics and Pilates; poolside dining with indoor and outdoor bar restaurants; a new heated pool, a children’s splash pool with a beach entry and water features; an additional tennis court and an outdoor amphitheater. There will also be a two-story fitness facility with Technogym equipment.

An existing building, which had some of these amenities, has been demolished to make way for the new.

“Country clubs today have become an extension to members’ homes,” said Larry Savvides, the club’s chief operating officer and general manager, in a statement. “Our new Lifestyle Center will be a central hub where members can bond with their neighbors and immerse themselves in their own vision of wellness, whether that be fitness, relaxation, healthy dining, or quality time with their loved ones.”

The 471-home Mizner Country Club alongside an 18-hole golf course is a member-owned community.
