Here’s another free shredfest.(Photo: Getty Images/iStockphoto)
A few weeks ago, a reader asked about free paper and document shredding events in the Fox Cities.
She was having a tough time finding one because several organizations that sponsored them last year are not holding shredfests this spring.
The only one I found was Fox Communities Credit Union’s paper shredding and electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on June 16 at the Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute. Paper shredding is free up to 10 bags, and some electronics are recycled for free. Others can be recycled for a fee. See foxcu.org for fees.
Since that ran, another financial institution, Unison Credit Union, emailed to say it is having a free paper shredding event this Saturday (May 12) and the public is invited.
It runs 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Unison’s 1000 Hyland Ave. branch in Kaukauna. It’s open to the public with a 10-box maximum. Note that it will not be accepting electronics for recycling.
