Ellen DeGeneres uses Jenna Dewan's married name on TV

Either Ellen DeGeneres hasn’t been on Instagram lately, or she needed a good segue to talk about Jenna Dewan‘s split from Channing Tatum.

On Wednesday’s “Ellen” the host introduced Dewan along with the rest of the “World of Dance” cast and used her married name, “Tatum,” even though the now single actress dropped it on social media following her split from the “Magic Mike” star in April.

“I am so sorry,” DeGeneres said, apologizing for referring to the dancer as Jenna Dewan-Tatum by accident. “It’s just such a habit, and I have to say the way that you and Channing are handling everything is beautiful and for your daughter and the statements have been great and I apologize.”

“I have just known both of you for so long,” she added.

Dewan graciously accepted her apology.

“Honestly, thank you and everybody for all the love and the support, it’s so moving,” she said.

Dewan — who is gearing up for the second season of “World of Dance” — and Tatum who were together for nearly nine years and share daughter, Everly, announced their separation in the joint statement.

“We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together,” they said. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”

In the time since their split, the mother of one has stayed active on social media, posting a cute lingerie pic and a snap from her first public appearance as a single lady.

The full “Ellen” interview also featuring Jennifer Lopez airs Wednesday.
