Transfer News LIVE updates: All latest gossip from the Premier League

Friday April 26

2:50pm: Antonio Conte has defended Chelsea’s decision to sell Mohamed Salah in 2014.

“It’s not so simple,” Conte said. “We have to compare Salah of four, five years ago, and not with this Salah now.

“Salah in the present has improved a lot, he has developed his football a lot. I think the Italy experience was very important for him and now I’m sure that he’s a different player, compared to the past.

“For this reason I think it’s very difficult to have this comparison.”

1:55pm: Jose Mourinho says David de Gea will not leave Man Utd this summer.

When asked if the Spain international could quit Old Trafford, Mourinho replied: “No chance.”

The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months.

1pm: Andres Iniesta has announced that he will leave Barcelona this summer.

The 33-year-old said: “This is my last season here. I have thought my decision through for a long time.

“For me, Barca is the best club in the world – this club has given me everything.”

12pm: Real Madrid have snubbed a swap deal proposal from Liverpool involving Mohamed Salah.

According to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, who are well known for their outlandish transfer claims, Real are desperate to land Salah.

They sensationally claim Liverpool have tabled a player-plus-cash offer to Real involving Salah and Gareth Bale.

They reckon Klopp is willing to let the Anfield superstar head to La Liga if Real pay £131m (€150m) AND give up Bale.

11am: Jurgen Klopp says he isn’t surprised about Rangers being interested in Steven Gerrard.

“I am not worried. Steven was, is and always will be a LFC legend,” Klopp said the Liverpool boss.

”I don’t even know what the situation is. Nobody has told me there’s a decision. I can imagine clubs are interested in Stevie.

“Massive experience. If I owned a club I would think about him as well.

“One day it will happen either here or somewhere else.”

10am: Neymar wants Real Madrid to splash the cash this summer before he returns to La Liga.

The PSG talisman has been heavily linked with a move away from Ligue 1 in recent months, despite only joining the French giants last summer.

And according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, who are well known for their outlandish transfer claims, Neymar will join Real if they meet his demands.

They reckon the Brazil star wants Real to sign Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard, United No.1 David De Gea and PSG centre-half Marquinhos this summer.

Neymar would be willing to join Real if they meet his transfer demands and splash the cash at the end of the season.

9am: Arsene Wenger says Jan Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers in the world but he’ll let Arsenal’s transfer chiefs decide if they sign him this summer.

The Atletico Madrid star has been heavily linked with a move away from La Liga in recent months.

And Wenger was asked about Oblak following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Atletico in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

“We know he’s one of the best keepers in Europe. He showed that tonight,” said the Frenchman when quizzed about Oblak.

The Gunners boss was also asked whether he would have liked to sign the Atletico star this summer, to which he replied: “I leave that with other people now.”

8am: Arsenal are ready to battle it out with Atletico Madrid and Napoli for Germany stopper Bernd Leno.

The Bayer Leverkusen No.1, who has also been eyed by Liverpool, is thought to have told his Bundesliga club he will leave in the summer.

Leno, 26, appears to fit the bill as he wants to use his get-out clause on a contract ending in 2020 – meaning his fee would be around £17.5m.

The Sun say Leverkusen have already agreed a deal to replace the goalkeeper, who has won six caps for Germany.

7am: Jose Mourinho has hit back at those that have criticised him for selling Mohamed Salah while at Chelsea.

“It is the first time that I am going to say this, but it is another injustice that has been talked about me,” he told ESPN Brasil.

“People say that I was the one that sold Salah and it is the opposite. I bought Salah.

“It is the opposite. I was the one that bought Salah. I was the one that told Chelsea to buy Salah.

“Chelsea decided to sell him, OK?”
