Marvel Studios Considering Nova, Eternals Movies

Eternals movie about Sersi on the horizon?

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige has confirmed the studio is looking into making movies based on Nova and the Eternals.

“Eternals is one of many many many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about to see if we believe in them enough to put them on a slate,” Feige told TheWrap.

Additionally, insiders told the outlet that several screenwriters have met with the studio and been asked to come up with a story centered around Sersi, a fourth generation member of the Eternals—a race of ancient humans created by the Celestials.

Feige noted that while the majority of the studio’s efforts right now are focused on Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers 4, they’re also doing a bit of planning for what’s to come after Phase 3 and gearing up to shoot the globe-trotting sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming in July, which kicks off Phase 4 of the MCU and will be a return to normal life after Avengers 4.

With regard to a potential Nova movie, Feige told Comicbook.com, “Nova is… if we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more than one examples to pull from in the comics that are interesting.” He also confirmed Nova was indeed “in the earlier drafts” for Guardians of the Galaxy.

For those unfamiliar with the comics, Nova (aka Richard Ryder) is a member of the intergalactic Nova Corps and the New Warriors.
