The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become a place for festival fashion to flourish.

As usual, all throughout both weekends of the festival there was lots of fringe, short jean shorts, sheer dresses, kimonos, flower prints, track pants, flash tattoos, face jewels, ankle boots and gladiator sandals.

But the festival is also a place for self-expression. It’s a place where people can experiment with funky outfits they could never wear anywhere else. Coachella is a place where folks let their fashion freak flags fly.

Here is a round-up of some fun and wacky fashions we saw at the festival throughout the two weekends:

Even bananas get tired at music festival and have to take a break. Sad to report that several passersby slipped on his peel as they walked past.

This guy’s look is a cross between steam punk and birdman.

Red and orange from head to toe, she definitely stuck out in the crowd. You might not be able to see her nails, but even those had orange embellishments. Orange is the new everything.

While he is evoking more of the disco era with flared pants and neon mesh shirt, I think she’s thinking more Renaissance and romantic.

Not sure where to start on this guy. Maybe he’s going for a farmer turned captain whose boat got stuck at Margaritaville.

A fighter pilot and Kung Fu master. FYI — the trend of rolling up only the right pant leg stems from riding a bicylce and not wanting to get the pant dirty from the chain.

Track pants being were seen all over the festival, but not the entire track suit. I give them props for that and for dressing alike. The reminds me I haven’t seen “The Shining” in a while.

People like to lose weight to look good in their clothes for Coachella, but this guy took it too far.
