In a statement to ET, the NYPD says that they responded to a report of a burglary at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday. “During their investigation, responding officers saw a ladder and a broken window at the location. They found the perpetrator asleep inside the apartment and affected an arrest,” the statement said.
Roger Alvarado, 22, of Homestead, Florida, was arrested on charges of stalking in the first degree, burglary, criminal mischief in the third degree and criminal trespassing in the third degree.
ET has reached out to Swift’s rep for comment.
The “Delicate” singer — who owns several homes across the U.S., including in Beverly Hills, Nashville and Rhode Island — posted a video of herself to Instagram on Friday afternoon, as she relaxed outdoors and thanked fans for listening to her new song with Sugarland, “Babe.”
“Hey guys I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the nice things you’ve been saying about ‘Babe,'” Swift said in the video message. “It’s a song that I wrote with Pat Monahan when I was making the Red album and I’m so happy that it get its own life. I’m so happy that Sugarland wanted to record it and has done such a great job with it, and I’m so stoked to be able to sing on it too.”
“So just wanted to say thanks and 18 days ’til tour and I can’t wait to see you,” she added.
The news comes weeks after Swift’s accused stalker, Frank Andrew Hoover, was sentenced to 10 years of probation after being charged with repeated violations of a protective order, categorized as a third-degree felony.
