Lisa André, a local longtime copywriter and freelance writer, has been named Lifestyle Editor for the Santa Ynez Valley News.
“I am pleased to have Lisa step into the lifestyles position,” said Marga Cooley, Valley News managing editor. “As a Valley resident, Lisa will help us continue to tell the stories of our Valley and its residents. You can expect more local stories as well as more enterprise reporting.”
In addition to her freelance work, André worked as a writer and creative consultant with Lisa André & Company, offering copywriting and business services to a broad base of clientele.
In her new editorial role, André will oversee coverage of Santa Ynez Valley community events, local art, business, food, wine, culture, pets, and homes and gardens.

“The Valley News has played an important role in serving the community for over 90 years and I am honored to head the Valley Life section,” Andre said. “I look forward to finding ways to celebrate the newspaper’s roots in both fun and engaging ways while continuing to provide valuable community journalism. My hope is that our readers continue to take creative ownership of their local newspaper — I am merely here to empower and facilitate that.”
André is a graduate of Antioch University Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Management, and is professionally trained in leadership development. She and her son, Adriano, are active community members of both the Santa Ynez Valley and Lompoc Valley.
