Brighton, N.Y. – A film shot entirely in Rochester is now playing at Movies 10 in Brighton.
#SCREAMERS is a horror movie about an internet company that decides to investigate a series of “screamer” movies.
Part of the focus is Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, where the person suspected of being Jack the Ripper is buried.
“I had intended to shoot the film here no matter what,” said writer, producer and star of the film Tom Malloy. “And then we found that Jack the Ripper connection and we added that into the film.”
Malloy lives in Webster and has filmed other movies in Rochester before.
“Rochester’s always been fantastic to us,” said Malloy. “The people have been fantastic. They’ve always seemed to support when we’re filming, come out. We used a lot of local talent, and that goes for crew as far as cast.”
#SCREAMERS is playing at Movies 10 until April 12.
Malloy says that even though it’s a horror film, there’s no blood or violence, so it is appropriate for children over 10 to see the movie.
It will be available digitally on Amazon and iTunes April 17.
