“Blockers”

In “Call Me By Your Name,” when 17-year-old Elio’s dad learns his son almost had sex with his girlfriend the night before, he asks, “Why didn’t you?” Here’s the American version of that: Parents (including Jon Cena and Leslie Mann) go into a full-blown panic when they find out their kids intend to have sex and plot to thwart their plans. Opens April 6 less

“I Feel Pretty”

Amy Schumer has a history of putting body shamers on blast. That doesn’t mean she can’t look at the issue from the other side of the mirror for laughs. She plays an ordinary insecure woman who becomes more confident and aggressive after a bonk on the head makes her think she looks like a swimsuit cover model. April 20 less

“Super Troopers 2”

In certain smoke-filled dorm rooms across the land, this may be the spring’s most buzzed-about movie. It’s a sequel to the cult 2001 comedy about Vermont Highway Patrol troopers who refuse to let crime get in the way of a good time. Here they venture into French-speaking Canada and pretty quickly test that country’s reputation for politeness. As they say in Quebec: Stupide mais drôle. April 20 less

“Avengers: Infinity War”

Most of the Marvel universe — the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are still in the wings — come together to battle the evil mutant Thanos, with the fate of the Earth in the balance. With so many superheroes on the screen, introductions could take a while: Black Panther, meet Ant Man. Spider-Man, say hi to a tree called Groot. April 27 less

“Overboard”

Anna Faris stars in this gender-swapped remake of the Goldie Hawn-Kurt Russell romantic comedy. She’s an overworked and underpaid single parent (Russell’s role in the original) who hoodwinks a rich snob (Mexican star Eugenio Derbez) into believing they’re married after he falls from his yacht and suffers amnesia. Eva Longoria co-stars. May 4 less

It’s like Mary Poppins for grown-ups. Charlize Theron is a sleep-deprived mother of three, including a newborn, who reluctantly allows a night nanny (“Halt and Catch Fire’s” Mackenzie Davis) into her home in this comedy from the writer and directing team behind “Juno” and director of “Up in the Air.” May 4 less

“Life of the Party”

Melissa McCarthy is a recently divorced stay-at-home mom who returns to college with gusto to get her degree, where she makes life so embarrassing for her teenage daughter. Not exactly a remake of Rodney Dangerfield’s “Back to School,” but close — there’s a lot less money and presumably no Robert Downey Jr. with an air horn. May 11 less

A few more shades of grey: Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen, Candice Bergen and Diane Keaton are members of a book club whose staid lives are rocked a bit when they dip into the pages of EL James’ kinky best-seller. May 18 less

“Deadpool 2”

The R-rated Marvel movie franchise returns with more wisecracks, more mayhem, more mutants and possibly some superhero sex. In this installment, the “Merc With a Mouth” (Ryan Reynolds) assembles an X-men-like team to take on bad guy Cable (Josh Brolin, who’s also the bad guy in “Avengers: Infinity War” — weird). May 18
