Reader question: Any idea on openings dates for Cheddar’s, Gander Outdoors and Meijer?

Answer: Just one of the three – Cheddar’s – has publicly nailed down its opening date so far.

Here’s the rundown:

CHEDDAR’S

Cheddar’s Scratch kitchen opens April 10 at 4531 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Grand Chute, next to Red Lobster on the fringe of the Fox River Mall’s property. That’s the new building on the site of the torn-down Old Country Buffet.

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is a restaurant chain based in Orlando, Florida that has more than 150 branches around the country. As its name indicates, it makes many dishes in-house, from smoked ribs and hand-battered fried chicken to pot pies and homemade onion rings. It is a full-service restaurant with a full bar.

The company is in hiring mode. Find applications at cheddars.com/careers or apply in person at the restaurant.

GANDER OUTDOORS

Gander Outdoors’ opening estimate is mid-April to early May.

The new owner, Camping World Holdings, took the former Gander Mountain building at 535 N. Westhill Blvd., near Woodman’s in Grand Chute.

Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s The Profit and chairman of Camping World, bought Gander Mountain’s assets in bankruptcy court last May.

Lemonis is also reopening the Green Bay store at 2323 Woodman Drive around the same time.

Both will have gear for hunting, fishing, water sports, active sports, camping and shooting. Together, they’ll employ 120 people. See ganderdoutdoors.com for hiring information.

MEIJER

Meijer plans on opening its grocery and general merchandise superstore in late spring or early summer. It hasn’t publicly announced the exact date so far.

Meijer’s massive store and separate convenience store/gas station are at 3801 N. Richmond Street, Grand Chute, at the northwest corner of Interstate 41 and State 47.

The store will employ 300 people. Find hiring information at meijer.com, or attend a walk-in hiring day 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Marion University Appleton Center, 720 W. Association Drive, across the highway from the store’s site.
