Gossip: Man United risk losing De Gea and Martial

MAN UNITED TAKING A RISK WITH DE GEA
‘David de Gea is still waiting on the offer of a new contract from Manchester United,’ claims Duncan Castles on Yahoo. Which is a pretty unusual way to treat your world-class goalkeeper whose contract expires next summer. They are clearly waiting because the Spaniard will want terms that reflect his status and the wages of Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez. “They are too slow,” a close friend of the goalkeeper tells Yahoo. “It’s always like this.”

Real Madrid are obviously a clear and present danger when it comes to De Gea, who has the same agent as Jose Mourinho. But then you already knew that as Castles is the mouthpiece of Jorge Mendes.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are planning fresh contract talks with Anthony Martial, sources have told ESPN FC. That story is backed up by The Times claiming that Juventus ‘have made their interest in the versatile forward known’; he might fancy the move after falling down the pecking order at Man United after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

SESSEGNON WANTS SPURS NOW…
Well, well. So on Wednesday we were told that Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon favours a move to Liverpool, and on Thursday the Daily Mirror say that actually he prefers a move to Tottenham. He is sensibly keeping his options open.

‘Spurs are in pole position to land the Cottagers’ £50million-rated wonderkid — thanks to manager Mauricio Pochettino and their north London location,’ they say. Well he is only 17 so it would make sense to stay in London if possible. Tottenham are said to be willing to pay £35m for the really rather exciting youngster.

MAHREZ HEADING TO ROMA
Well, well. So after all that January shenanigans, Riyad Mahrez could be heading to Italy this summer rather than Manchester City. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims that the Algerian has reached an agreement with Roma, though a price is yet to be decided. They mention the price of £50m, which made us laugh a lot. Clearly they were not following events in January when City were quoted closer to £100m.

AND THE REST
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can’s agent has “blocked all negotiations” regarding the 24-year-old Germany international’s future…Newcastle are the favourites to sign Porto’s 36-year-old former Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas on a free transfer this summer…Brighton, Crystal Palace and West Ham are all interested in Lille defender Ibrahim Amadou…Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is ready to leave Anfield, with Napoli and Borussia Dortmund both considering moves for the 30-year-old.
