As businesses slowly recover from COVID-19 shutdowns, a number of big and small stores and an indoor activity park shuttered for weeks or months are coming back to life.

Some of those reopening now include:

•J.C.Penney in the Fox River Mall reopened today, Wednesday, after being closed since mid-March under the safer-at-home order. See its website for the daily schedule, which shows reduced hours that started today at 11 a.m.

•Urban Air Adventure Park in Grand Chute will reopen its doors this week in phases.

Essential workers (including medical professionals, first responders and grocery store, postal and delivery workers) and their families can use the park for free on Thursday evening. They must sign up in advance on the special event tab, the third listing on the urbanairappleton.com page.

Urban Air members can come to the park on Friday night. The general public can come starting Saturday.

The park is at 4741 W. Lawrence St., the former Gordmans location.

To see capacity restrictions and measures put in place go to the “what to expect” and “park cleaning procedures” tab on its website. New safety guidelines include mandatory temperature checks for everyone.

•Altitude Trampoline Park, an activity park nearby at 4950 Integrity Way in Grand Chute (facing Wisconsin Avenue), reopens June 9 according to its website. It is implementing new cleaning protocols and capacity limits.

•Blue Moon Emporium in downtown Appleton opens today, Wednesday, but by appointment only to keep capacity to a maximum of three customers at a time. Shoppers can make appointments on its Facebook page.

“We’re happy, excited, tense…it’s been months since we have had anyone in the shop,” owner Cathy Stratton told her customers. “Don’t forget your mask, or we will provide one.”
