Model David Gandy appears to be the only celebrity not on lockdown in the Cotswolds at the moment after taking his family to stay with his mother-in-law up north.

While other stars like the Beckhams and Rita Ora are forever posting images of themselves in their country abodes, the international star says he is enjoying being out of sight so he doesn’t have to exercise for the first time in 22-years.

The former University of Gloucestershire student who shot to fame after winning a modelling competition on ITV’s This Morning told GQ Magazine that he upped sticks and took Stephanie Mendoras and their baby daughter Matilda up north to isolate on the Lancashire Yorkshire border.

The flamboyant Cotswolds -based TV designer has offered the use of his stunning Cornish retreat to the winning worker nominated in a competition arranged by a holiday cottage company for when the pandemic is over.

But anybody put off by his Changing Rooms reputation should be assured there isn’t a hint of chintz in his simply decorated, three bedroom holiday cottage over looking the beach in Port Isaac.

Cotswolds-based actor Richard E. Grant says he ended up looking like “Julie Walters playing Mrs Overall” after putting on a pair of high-heeled Jimmy Choo shoes for his latest film role as a drag queen.

The 63-year-old said being transformed into Loco Chanelle for the film version of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has made him appreciate what some women go through to keep up appearances.
