Continuous spread of the Covid-19 pandemic coupled with snatching lives of people and putting a large number of residents under immense stress these days has motivated a city doctor to come forward for society.
Dr Vipan Gupta decided to play a constructive role during this cruicial time for saving lives, the oath for which was taken by him 27 years ago, when he joined the profession as homoeopath.
Dr Gupta in association with Lions Club, Ludhiana, has initiated a drive to distribute preventive medicine – Arsenicum album-30 – as per guidelines of the CCRH (Central Council of Research in Homoeopathy, New Delhi). A person is told to take one dose of medicine daily on empty stomach for three days.
“In the first round, we decided to help around 6,000 cops, traffic marshals and volunteers, who are fighting against Covid-19 day and night by performing more than their duty on roads,” said Dr Gupta.
“We distributed 18,000 doses of preventive medicine and immunity booster among cops by starting the drive at the office of Commissioner of Police in the presence of ADCP Sachin Gupta,” Dr Gupta added.
Lions Club president Lion Varun Chandok, Lord Mahavira Homoepathic College former principal Lion, Dr Ravinder Kochhar, and Lion Sushil Gupta have extended full support to this noble cause.
They did not stop here but decided to provide preventive medicine to atleast 300 persons. As many as 900 doses for 300 persons were distributed through Lions Club members recently. Yesterday, they were spotted at Rishi Nagar and in Hambran Road area while distributing preventive medicine.
Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu also joined the drive and encouraged the team for the free of cost service. Dr Gupta has become a role model for students and interns of Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, where he was contributing as guest lecturer.
Dr Gupta also boosts morale of people and patients by motivating them to adopt healthy lifestyle and overcome stress/depression by involving them in physical exercises, meditation, eating vegetarian food containing green vegetables, watching motivational and funny movies. He also tells them to refrain from using social media spreading fake news, which creates unwanted tensions in life.
