Reader question: What is going on with the building on Spencer Street, the old Country Aire building? Lots of fixing on the outside.
Answer: The building is the former Monarch Gardens/Country Aire, which was purchased by JRK Investment Enterprises.
According to Grand Chute Plan Commission records from Feb. 4, the building and its parking lot at 2311 and 2345 W. Spencer St. will be used for storage.
The plan commission approved “construction of three self-storage buildings and associated site improvements.”
The plan commission and town board also approved its signage and lot consolidation.
The building had been a banquet and music venue for 55 years. It opened as Country Aire in 1964 and became Monarch Gardens in 1994.
