Emily explained in her OK! magazine column: “At the time of writing this, myself, Pete and the kids are all fine. As a doctor, I am obviously continuing to work as normal unless any of us get any symptoms.

“The chances are some us are probably going to get it, but we just have to be sensible and listen to the government’s advice.

She added: “We need to stagger people getting it as much as possible so the NHS doesn’t get completely overwhelmed and then have lots of staff off sick at the same time.”

Peter also expressed his fears of Emily contracting the virus, but said he is proud of her nonetheless.

He wrote in his new! magazine column: “Obviously Emily being a doctor brings it close to home for me and, of course, I’m worried about her.

“But I’m also proud of her doing her job.”
