Chantelle Houghton admits she still loves Preston as they reunite after 10 years – OK! magazine
Chantelle Houghton has revealed she will love ex-husband Preston “forever” as they reunite following their divorce in 2007.
The pair met on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2006 and soon entered a whirlwind romance, announcing their engagement just three months later.
Preston, 38, and Chantelle, 36, married that August before announcing their divorce after 10 months of marriage.
They have now reunited for the first time in 10 years in an exclusive photoshoot and interview with new magazine, opening up on the friendship they now share.
Addressing the chemistry they still have, Chantelle said: “I just think for me there will always be something. I will always love you.”
Ordinary Boys frontman Preston — real name Samuel — continued: “And we’ve been through something that’s almost so mad.”
However, they admitted they wouldn’t get back together, with the Boys Will Be Boys hitmaker saying: “I think it would ruin a really important relationship as it stands.
“It has been a really useful thing to have a blunt voice – someone who I can just call who will tell me, no b******t, what’s going on.
“It’s important for people to know being good friends with your ex-wife is totally achievable and actually quite a beautiful thing. Also this is just a nice ending to our story, rather than a comeback.”
Discussing the time they got together in the Borehamwood mansion, Preston added: “It was amazing.
“It’s really weird because it takes looking back on it to see it for what it was. You know how you just adapt to whatever your circumstances are?
“At the time we were doing it as if it’s completely normal, then you go back. It takes being removed from it to realise it was f***ing insane.”
But opening up on regrets, Chantelle said: “I regret being quite naive and manipulated by agencies.”
Preston agreed: “I had the same thing. I was with a music manager, so you would never have thought it.
“You’ve gotta remember they have tonnes of people they look after, so if they can get a little bit [of money] out of you and put you on your own.”
Offering advice to contestants looking for love on reality TV shows such as Love Island nowadays, Chantelle said: “Thing is, if you’re the kind of person who wants to go on a reality show, it doesn’t matter what advice you’d give to that person. Even if you said don’t do it, they’d still do it.

“I never wanted to be famous, I just wanted to have a nice house, eat nice food and go to nice places. I had really rubbish GCSEs, so going on Big Brother, that’s what I got out of it.
“So I’ve always been very grounded and I live a normal life. But for somebody who wants to be famous, I feel it’s a very dangerous world to enter into.
“Because when the paparazzi stop taking your picture and the phone stops ringing, that’s when I think it could be mentally dangerous for you. You start chasing the fame.”
