Piers Morgan calls Sam Smith an ‘attention seeker’ over coronavirus self-isolation ‘meltdown’ – OK! Magazine

Piers Morgan has slammed Sam Smith and called them an “attention seeker” and demanded they should “get a grip” after Sam posted a photo crying on Instagram.

The Good Morning Britain host, 54, hit out at the singer, 27, after they shared a joke post of themselves going through the stages of a “quarantine meltdown” to their 14.8million followers.

Sam shared three photos of them going through the stages, the first of which shows Sam looking fed up while sitting on a doorstep.

The second shows Sam sitting in the same place with their hand on their forehead looking upset and the third shows Sam appearing to break down in tears.

Sam then summed up their light-hearted post with a caption which read: “Stages of a quarantine meltdown”. [sic]

The humorous post from Sam received more than 439,000 likes and 4,400 comments from fans to comfort them.

One wrote: “Aw big virtual hugs Sam xxx”.

Another said: “Awww poor Sam,” while a third added: “Everything will be ok,” followed by two heart emojis.

However, GMB host Piers Morgan didn’t sympathise with Sam as he re-tweeted a news story about Sam’s Instagram share and wrote: “FFS.I can’t take any more of this celebrity attention-seeking bulls**t.“

Piers, who’s GMB co-host Susanna Reid is currently in self-isolation after her son developed a cough, added: “Get a grip, the lot of you. This is a war, not an Instagram story op.”

The Too Good At Goodbyes singer seems to have ignored Pier’s critical comments and instead continued to document their experiences with self-isolation.

Sam shared a touching photo of themself holding up a sign with the hashtag “#IStayHomeFor” and listed a number of Sam’s nearest and dearest friends.

Writing in the caption, Sam thanked Elton John for nominating them for the viral challenge and added: “This is a wonderful thing to do. I stay home for my incredible family.

“This is unprecedented times and my thoughts and heart is with everyone right now. We are in this together post your photo and nominate six of your friends xx I nominate my wonderful friends @tomglitter @jeffhova @lauvsongs @normani @suranne_jones @perrieedwards”.

Ant Middleton
Ant Middleton has also come under fire for his recent comments about self-isolation

Sam isn’t the only celebrity who has come under fire over their recent actions over the coronavirus epidemic.

Ant Middleton was recently slammed for claiming the coronavirus “won’t affect him” because he is “too strong”.

Ant had said: “Am I still out travelling the world? Yes. Am I still shaking hands? Yes. Am I still cuddling fans at the airport? Yes.

“Am I still washing my hands and keeping my hygiene to a high standard? Yes. Am I going to let some disease Covid-19 dictate my life? Absolutely not. Get out, there don’t change.”

The former special forces solider has since done a U-turn on his comments, by urging his fans to self-isolate to ease the spread of the virus.

“Covid-19 doesn’t bother me for MYSELF. MYSELF people. My health. But SELF-ISOLATE and follow common sense,” he said.

“I will be volunteering all of my spare time, if I can leave my home – AND I WILL BE FOLLOWING THE NEW GOVERNMENT ADVICE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING, NO MORE HANDSHAKES!!! – to take my skillset wherever it is needed!”
